Very old and incredibly obvious scam that a person would have to be blind not to see.

It's nice of you to try and warn people about this scam, but the people who do fall for it won't be here until they are a victim of it.

My suggestion is to not use discord.

Lot of bad actors on there...and they'll pretend they're normal and your friend until they decide to do some unscrupulous stuff on their webcams out of nowhere.

Like doing hard drugs on cam--like I want a record of that on my PC (I don't)

And there's even worse stuff on there.

very common very old scam. best to report the person or persons.

You need to have a special talent to run into these sorts of people often enough to believe discord is compromised as a whole. Haven’t run into a single instance of what you’re talking about.

I used to be like "Who falls for these obviously obvious scams that these scammers would even try?"

Then, damn near all day, this forum gets clogged up with people talking about how the obviously obvious scam scammed them, and I'm still just as confused how people fall for them.

Why would you ever think this would have been real?

Well it must run rampant in the counterstrike community because I subbed to a discord server of probably the most wholesome semi pro counterstrike streamer and all these randoms befriended me acting completely normal for a week or two, then they started to discuss the dark web and drugs and tried convincing me to buy illegal drugs online (and I don't do drugs), so i imagine they were feds.

One of them also liked saying the n word about ten times per five seconds....once when I was streaming and I didn't realize I was in their stupid server, thus getting me shadowbanned.

If people are getting scammed so often on discord, it's already a trash platform

Teamspeak and mumble were always superior imo.

The only safe discord server I ever was in was for Elder Scrolls Online but I stopped playing that game

I stopped playing counterstrike for different reasons. Mainly because it sucks

Or just turn off dms for all public servers and they never show up
