Have you tried rebooting?
Low battery? Plug in ac.
Wear and tear parts getting old?
Dust in vents.
Could be hardware sorry.

basics 101 of PC, reboot pc/laptop, run laptop with power cable plugged in, is windows power settings max out or set to saving energy? virus scan, malware scan, cleanout vents/fans, update drivers for hardware, if its on the latest try previous version of drivers. any new software installed in the last couple days? did you check if your hardware matches? meaning possible hardware malfunction or possible on its way out. or do a backup and do full format and reinstall, then see how it goes

Just restart your laptop. Do an actual "Restart", don't just turn it off and on again.
