--- too many page requests ----

IP Rate limiter. Prevents bombarding of the marketplace and inventory servers by users with browser add on's, Bots, and off site skin / item trade sites.

Too many page requests from the same IP address.

You hit an API quota limit. This quota limit is IPv4 based. If restarting your router doesn't help, you'll have to wait it out.

IPv4 addresses are not unique anymore. As there are more humans (8 billion) than IPv4 addresses (4.2 billion), ISPs have chosen to route users together on an identical IPv4 address. This technique is known as CGNAT.[en.wikipedia.org]

For Valve's inventory and community market API this bundled together group of users using CGNAT or Dual Stack Lite looks like a single user.

If you waited several days to weeks, your only recourse is getting a public IPv4 address. It doesn't matter whether this one is static or dynamic. Ask your ISP on how to obtain one.

If you already have a public also known as dedicated IPv4 address, you should stop spamming inventory actions.

If your ISP supports ipv6, then turn off ipv4... This will also help solve the problem.

to see if your ipv6 is active go here:

Nice copy paste. Did you actually try loading up the SCM yourself?
Kinda strange that so many people suddenly seem to have hit the IP rate limit out of nowhere.

Marketplace works fine for me, on both my marketplace accounts. I also have a dedicated private IP address and also use a double VPN set in my region. So changing IP address for ipv4 is easy, but I also have 2 dedicated IPV6 address, so again, never been a problem. YMMV.

Wish you luck.

Loaded community market, works fine, did you read the articles about resetting your ipv4?

Jumping through multiple hoops for non-issues.
Never have been rate limited myself despite having open like 20 SCM tabs every so often. I dont even know how it happens to people.

This error case clearly wasnt that as evidenced by the multiple threads appearing around the same time about the same problem.

Just because its an error doesnt automatically mean its an end user issue, you know. Steam isnt without fault.

Yes, because the moment one suggests that someone should check themselves everything works again. The magic of the moment.

And no I didnt read the article because nobody needs to do that.
