That game has been legal in NZ for about two years and the whole issue of it started back in the early 2000s, around the time all the "video games make people violent" rhetoric was going around.

I doubt activists were pushing for people to be jailed for playing it, that's just what NZ decides at the time.

If anything, that's an example of how much better things are nowadays, where a game that was previously banned is now unbanned and playable.

That youtube channel has been making loads of clickbait videos full of bad information. It's apparently a negatively-well-known youtube channel that has been caught fabricating things for years on a few subjects.

The problem is that if everything you consume it´s through the lens of fake news to trigger rightoids, then it doesn´t matter if you point out there´s evidence of those "influencers" being liars, because this people will claim it´s "the mass media that lies" and if there´s wikipedia facts disproving this youtubers, again, "wikipedia is woke, can´t be trusted".

That´s the beuty and danger of the current conspiracy alt-right movement, it really doesn´t matter what facts, truth or data you can provide, in their mind, it´s all compromised except for the things that give them the exact same conspiracies they are looking for and then some more.

So yeah, payment companies asking Steam to remove NSFW games with questionable content turns into "THE LEFTISH ACTIVIST ARE TRYING TO KILL GAMERS, I JUST SAW ONE BLUE HAIRED LESBIAN RUNNING AROUND THE STREET WITH A MACHETE SCREAMING WHERE ARE THE FASCIST AROUND!!!" We can´t really do nothing about it, cause the people holding this ideas are so deep into the scam that there´s no turning back, they will never be normal humans again, their existance is dominated now by a constant desire to get angry, defensive, and claim on one side the left is dead and non-sensical, BUT at the same time they are a huge force that will cancel and kill anyone that disagrees.

It´s just a bunch of weak people showing how weak they trully are, but none of them are capable of understanding it anymore. Again, they are just too consumed by the scam at this point. Not a single one of them is able to just buy and play a game, first cause they are all children with no money, and secondly because they are scare of playing a game, liking it, and then their favorite youtuber claiming it´s "woke". There's two fundamental pillars in which alt-right/MAGA conspiracy discourse is based on:

One is the famous 'owning the libs' anything that may trigger a 'leftie' is a go for them. Even when it can be clearly counter productive for them. It's kind of a 'misery loves company' way of thinking.

The second one is their discourse is based on what has been called 'bullshitting'. Unlike lying their truth is fluid and changes as the events unfold.

I have to admit I find incredubly amusing seeing lots of 'right leaning' gamers blame the actual censorship situation on 'the woke feminists' when the group that spawned this is actually way closer to their own political leaning than to 'the left'. But as per the second point their reality is whatever fits their narrative at that precise moment, so it's all blamed on 'feminism'.
