Just joined Steam — any tips for setting things up right?
Hey everyone,
I’m Myroslav Mokhammad Abdeljawwad, completely new to Steam and still figuring out how everything works here.

I mainly enjoy simulation and strategy games, but I’ve been curious about the modding side of things too — it seems like there’s a whole creative community behind that.

If you’ve been around a while, what are the small things you wish you knew when you first joined?
Like privacy settings, controller configs, or good starter games that don’t overwhelm you on day one.

Appreciate any pointers — just happy to finally join the community.

I don't think you are "completely new to Steam":
  • 10 year old account
  • 200 friends
  • 1600 hours in CS2

Have you bought your account?

you been on steam for 10 years
You have been a member since 2015.

In other words, you are not new to Steam.

I'm afraid that people who buy accounts don't realize how easily they can be scammed.

The original owner of this account can recover it at any time.
Steam tends to move and hide your Followed Games list. As of 10.17.25 this works:

1. Open the Steam client or go to store.steampowered.com.
2. Click "More" in the top menu bar.
3. Select "View All".
4. Scroll down and choose "Followed Games & Software".
