Just how many times asking me to login is too many?
OK, I want to know if this is unusual. I opened Steam on m y Mac, and was asked to login. I approved it from my phone twice, and even though it said successful, I was never logged in on my Mac. So I started over and scanned the QR code. I was logged in. Then I wanted to look at my library, and was asked to login again. Did that. Then I picked a game, and again, I was asked to login. Then the Steam engine loaded, and once again, I was asked to login. Each time I used the QR code, each time it showed logged in, and yet I was asked many times over.

So what is the number of times I will be asked to log in? Is this unusual behavior? Is this what I should expect every time I want to use it? It is rather annoying.

Hello, wow that's strange, make sure you have the latest software update on your Mac first.
Then redownload the dmc file and replace Steam.app by the new Steam.app inside your Steam.dmg you've just downloaded.

Then, if you have the same issue, got to the Steam Settings (if you can), go to Download section, and Delete the Cache.
You'll be prompt to restart steam, do it, if steam ask you 20 sec after you did that to reconnect to an account, simply reconnect to your account, wait until it does what it have to do. Then try again.

If it doesn't work or if you can't access to Steam Settings, you might you to perform a full reset/reinstallation of Steam, this will erase all Games you've installed before and reset Settings you've made inside Steam

You can access directly on Finder using this path :
~/Library/Application Support/Steam
~ Is your User folder, my account on my Mac is WiBlum, the full path would be as mine so :
/Users/wiblum/Library/Application Support/Steam
without uppercase.

Move this folder temporarily and check if it change something (you can move it or renaming it in case you want to keep it, but if you don't care to keep those files, just delete it, it's okay)

If it still doesn't work, try restarting your computer or perform a NVRAM refresh (most issue are resolved by a simple restart, some required NVRAM refresh).

And if it still doesn't resolve your issue, contact Valve directly and tell them it's a Steam Launcher app issue, they usually respond fast in the day but they can take 2 or more days, so be patient and understanding when you get an update.
