OS error 0 on a computer that has played this game for years?
I'm surprised and annoyed by something. I've been a longtime player of Total War Warhammer Fantasy 2 (as in the last few years and over a thousand hours on the game).

I had an odd patch situation the last day or 2 when a patch refused to finish downloading despite being at 100%. The "Pause" button appeared instead of the "Play" button. I noticed today "Play" appeared and tried to start the game but found it wouldn't start and received an "OS error 0" with the suggestion I update the game and OS. This OS has been working just fine with the game.

If what happened is the latest patch actually screwed up the game then it would be really nice if steam would give an option to not upload the latest patch.

I did some reading that wasn't posted with the error message. There was a way to get the game to start working again by going in to Properties and making a change there. I would not recommend anyone who suddenly finds the game doesn't work try to redownload steam or any updates for the game without trying to do this 1st. If someone has this problem and needs more info just ask and I'll go into further detail about what I found-it seems to work at the moment.

It is not what the error message suggested but it does seem to work and is something someone else thought of and made available within steam that may be too specific to the game for the automated error message to mention.

I've encountered this issue recently when I was playing a similar game on MacOS. An easy fix I've found was to roll-back to the previous game version. You can do so by selecting the game in your library then manage (the gear left of the "PLAY TIME") > Properties > Betas > Beta Participation > Rollback. It should run fine after downloading the beta.

It has been a few years but I think this is a good solution.

I honestly cannot remember what I did since I dealt with it over a year ago. I think Arctic Blaze's comment goes through a workable (it has worked) fix.
