it keeps saying gameinfo.txt is missing but i found it right where it claims it is missing from
so everytime i try to use the hammer editor with cs:s it comes up with an error saying gameinfo.txt is missing. so i went to the folder that it claims gameinfo was missing from, AND IT WAS THERE
i opened up the game and even went as far as to reinstall both AND IT STILL DOES THIS
this angers me deeply because i want to pursue game design as a carreer path and i wanna start practicing and learning how to make levels now

does the gameinfo have to be in a different format or someithing?

It's because of steampipe you need to opt into the SDK beta then go to Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Source\cstrike\bin and launch hammer from there.

right click on cs:s in your steam library > beta tab > choose the sdk tool beta program, and restart steam it will download the beta tools.
