that sounds like a wild issue. itd be important to include computer hardware information and operating system information as well. i assume you already tried to uninstall and reinstall steam. still persisting i would check your drivers.

steam is heavily internet based i hate to mention VPN but its surprising how many people actually casual vpn.

how many games are in your library? id find it hard to believe this would actually end up being an issue with steams software if your on a windows platform. is steam the only software your noticing issues?

So I just tried to uninstall and reinstall Steam another time and what I found is that after signing into the website, the website itself is also jumping around making it very difficult to do anything. I did manage to sign in, but even while I was reinstalling the program on my computer, the steam set up was freezing. I do not use a VPN I don’t know how many games are in my library currently but this has been a persistent problem since I first got steam and I just never bothered to look for a Help forum. And yes, I have other platforms andThis seems to be the only one that is having this issue. I will look up the hardware information in just a minute.

No uninstalling and reinstalling it once more still persist with the problem now it’s even not responding when I try to install a game. I know that my computer is not very strong and finds it difficult to run games with high graphics, but the games themselves actually run have not been that much of a problem for me so long as I toggle the graphics on the game itself.

My device specifications says the processor is Intel R core TM I 7–8550UCPU @ 1.8 0GHZ 1.9 9 GHZ installed RAM16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable) system type 64 – bit operating system, X64 – based processor Windows specifications addition Windows 11 home version 23H2OS build 22631.5039

I hope that helps when I say I’m bad at technology. I mean, I need handholding like really bad.

Ugh idk what happened but now it’s worse. The library isn’t the only obit wanting to respond anymore. None of it is. Also one of my games isn’t updating its cloud now for some reason and I’m struggling to fix it because everything says it is set up to use the cloud and it has been up until I uninstalled and reinstalled again. Ugh.

This is still a persistent problem, were you able to find anything out about it? Did my computer info help?

hey brother sorry it took a while to get back to you to me after so long still having problems i think this could maybe be a hardware issue. i would record the footage of the issues happening and post it on the steam group on reddit. you may get better advice and more help from others

did you get onto the steam reddit like i suggested i could try to look into it more again as well. i think especially by this point may be graphics card condition, graphics card drivers and or software issue or some other interesting gpu cpu hardware type issue to which you can use the pc but at a point the pc wigs out steam may be only causing thee issue as far as youve seen. though if games are working no problem though id see it not being a hardware issue id just find it hard to believe its a steam issue valve IS pretty good..

I forgot to check the reddit but I agree that it could quite possibly be my computer not being powerful enough for certain gaming related things, my graphics card is as good as the repair shop could get it given that it’s just a basic PC laptop but I don’t currently have any other that I can try and see if the issue still happens on other computers, it doesn’t happen on my phone which I’m currently using to reply so it would t surprise me if it’s a computer issue. I would love to get a gaming computer but even basic ones are expensive.

if you graphics drivers are fully up to date idk. that intel came out 8 years ago maybe if your coming from windows 10 could be an issue between the 2. if you can still game and run it i would just keep running it until you can get a better machine. currently my laptop is getting old too im due for an upgrade. ive never really had any major issues but ive had a few startles and a few scares its still running strong though im on a cyber power tracer iv. im definitely getting another cyber power machine again too.

Yeah mine is a repaired second hand one because my 9 year old dell evidently was trying to die for around 8 years lol the repair guy said it was one of them that is used to pretty much scam young college students and is not worth more than $100 new and not designed to last more than 1 year because it cannot be repaired due to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hardware all being glued down with nowhere to add upgrades. my parents were charged much more than that for it too. So the repair guy was able to get me a used one that he fixed and added a second graphics component (I think that is what he said but I am incredibly inept lol) before cloning my computer onto the new one. It is a miracle the cloning worked at all because he said my motherboard was completely fried and had been on the verge of dying and killing all of my info forever at any second for the majority of the time I owned it... Yikes. So the one I am on now is much better than that one but has been made as powerful as it can be which is fine for visual novels, working on emails and docs, but ♥♥♥♥ for anything requiring detailed interactive graphics. I can watch others stream games with high graphics just fine but playing them works differently. I wish I understood more about how this works but when I try to learn my mind gets so inundated with information so quickly that I stall out more than my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ graphics cards do lol
