They're not planing to sale their company, and they stated the reason why.
You know how sometimes people ask, "If you had millions of dollars, what would you do with it?"
Valve was founded by a handful of super-rich ex-Microsoft employees. After a few game releases they eventually made Steam. Steam and the Valve games franchises are their answer to what they would do with millions of dollars. They are already doing what they want to do with all their money. They have what they want now. What would they get out of selling everything?
I really hope that Valve never sale their soul to the devil (EA). The ONLY reason why EA's game is selling is because of the HUGE amount of money they throw into comersals and hyping.
When Trip started EA it was seen as revolutionary at the time. They were both programmers and consumers heros... look at them now.
