They're not planing to sale their company, and they stated the reason why.

Two anonymous sources 'familiar with the matter' told the New York Times that they've been trying to do it for years. If I were Gabe Newell (which I AM), i would decline. Right now VALVe has good bussiness opportunities & projects... (but yea.. i dont know nothing about that, so... bye, gonna play some TF2)

Think about this:

You know how sometimes people ask, "If you had millions of dollars, what would you do with it?"

Valve was founded by a handful of super-rich ex-Microsoft employees. After a few game releases they eventually made Steam. Steam and the Valve games franchises are their answer to what they would do with millions of dollars. They are already doing what they want to do with all their money. They have what they want now. What would they get out of selling everything?

EA destroys the gaming marked. They ruines every pc game they touch.
I really hope that Valve never sale their soul to the devil (EA). The ONLY reason why EA's game is selling is because of the HUGE amount of money they throw into comersals and hyping.

Valve should buy out EA and then dismantle the company bit by bit.

Cornflakes: Your point is well taken YET when a company goes public it's no longer the whim or 'moral' compass of the founders.

When Trip started EA it was seen as revolutionary at the time. They were both programmers and consumers heros... look at them now.
