Calling all Nerds... Pt.2
This is an update from one of my previous posts. First of all, I appreciate all of the comments and feedback (even the negative comments). Rather than get mad or upset when I am faced with negativity I always do my best to try and turn it in to something positive. Durring my last post I learned several things.

I learned that when writing a very long post on Steam I should be sure to use correct English, grammar, and sentence structure. I also learned that no matter how many times you tab over to distingquish the beginning of a paragraph, Steam will automatically structure your post for you (eliminating all the tab-overs). I also learned that most of the Steam community doesn't want to read a sappy backstory (I am sorry for that and I appologize). I can also recall someone laughing at me for buying a lot of ram and pairing it with a mediocre graphics card. This taught me not to listen to the computer guy at Best Buy (just because he works in the computer department doesn't mean he is a computer wiz).

I took everything that I learned and thought about the comments for about an hour. As soon as I realized what I needed to do I acted. I took the advice of researcing overclocking on websites other than steam and asked my questions there. Great advice... GREAT ADVICE!!! I ended up learning some very usefull information. All of which I quickly put to use. I decided that I didn't want to take it slow anymore. With school requiring me to master programs such as AutoCad, Adobe Premiere/Photoshop/Dreamweaver, and Bryce 7 Pro 3D, I didn't have time to take a slow walk through the park. I needed to run at full speed. The overclocking forums explained to me that a good overclock depends mainly on your setup. If I have a superb setup that enables you to tweak every little aspect of you rig than (if you are good with numbers) the rest is just a matter of tedious number crunching. I am a fast learner (especially when it comes to building things... I am a damn good master mechanic). Another comment that was made in my first post was that overclocking is expensive and people want to do it so they may expierence the best and most beautiful graphics that videogames have to offer. I already knew this. If it was cheap, I would have decided to try it years ago when I could only afford consoles. Things are different now as I can finally afford to do it right, I was going about it the wrong way. As said before... The guy at Best Buy isn't the best source for information pertaining to computers.

I cashed out my 401k, dipped into my savings and finally cashed a school loan check that I was holding in case of emergencies. With all of the information that I learned from my new friends at extremeoverclocking.com, I decided to finally go all out and went nuts on Amazon. Being an Amazon Prime member really pays off. When I was all done shopping and clicked the proceed to checkout icon, I almost passed out. "F..K ME... how am I going to explain this to my girlfriend. She is going to kick my A.. when I tell her what I spent. I decided that since it is for school, my business, and my future career she will just have to understand. It is all tax deductible anyways. This is what I am going to be putting together in the next couple of days.

Nzxt Technologies Phantom with Green Trim (Green LED) Enthusiast Full Tower Case - Phan-002Gr (black)

AS Rock Intel X79 DDR3 Quad SLI Quad Crossfire ATX Motherboard X79 EXtreme9

Intel Core i7-3960X Extreme Edition Hexa-Core Processor

2 Sapphire Radeon HD 7990 6GB DDR5 DVI-I/Quad Mini DP PCI-Express Game Edition Graphics Cards... yup, I am going to bridge them as the motherboard supports crossfire technology

Kingston HyperX Beast 16 GB Kit (2x8 GB) 2400MHz DDR3 PC3-19200 Non-ECC CL11 DIMM XMP Desktop Memory

Kingston Technology HyperX Predator 16GB Kit (2x8GB) 2133MHz DDR3 PC3-17000 CL11 DIMM Motherboard Memory XMP T2 I was told that combining these two different ram types make a big difference (?) Not sure on this, but I will try it

Cooler Master V8 GTS - High Performance CPU Cooler with Horizontal Vapor Chamber and 8 Heatpipes

Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D THX PCIE Fatal1ty Champion Sound Card SB1354 I dj in my spare time, but that is a whole different story. This rig is gonna replace my laptop.

NZXT Aperture M Internal 5.25-Inch Mesh Card Reader with 2x USB 3.0 (8c-aper000-w0b)

NZXT IU01 Internal USB Expansion (Black)

Western Digital WD1002FAEX Caviar Black 1 TB SATA III 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache Internal Desktop 3.5" Hard Drive

Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Single Unit Version Internal Solid State Drive

Lamptron FC2 Fan Speed Controller 45W x 6 channel Black

This setup is a formula that someone on one of the forums that I joined suggested. It is not exactly to the T (some of the stuff that he suggested was just way to much, in upward of over $1000... just for one graphics card) That is ok though. I went back to the forum and asked my new friend if this setup would do and he explained that it is perfectly fine and that my setup would be more suitable for what I would be using it for anyway. His initial setup was primarly geared toward hi-end bitcoining. As I said in the previous post, I am not a rich guy by no means, I live comfortably, not lavishly. Nor do I like to brag about such things. I just want to thank everyone who commented on my original post and I would also like to appologize for the long, over the top explanation of myself and character. Even though some of the comments were negative ones, I totally understand why they were made and I appreciate the fact that they were made. If I wouldn't have pondered on those comments, I never would have taken the time to do what needed to be done so that I may accomplish my goal. I would also like to state that in writing this, I indented all paragraphs and to the best of my ability used correct grammar and sentence structure. If Steam happens to automatically reformat what I have written, I am sorry. If I have mispelled any words, I would also like to appologize. That isn't Steams fault, it is mine.

Thanks again for all of the feedback. In the future I will post the progress of my current project. In all honestly, most of you probably don't even care, and I don't blame you. Reading specs can be meaningless and boring. Thanks again guys good luck and best wishes in all that you do.

This is essentially what separates NPCs from real people.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
