HSP just signals to everyone else that you have past trauma. The only reason people label themselves HSP, aside from those on the autism spectrum whom are sensitive to stimuli naturally and don't even use the term, is bc they discovered some new ager talking about it; then slowly it crept its way into psych circles and now it's used as often as "narcissism" is. It's a way to feel special and I get that. Completely. We all want to feel special like we are all so incredibly unique and poofy and sparkly and magical but the reality is, if you are truly that different, it's for a reason and it's oftentimes not a good one. Your brain has made connections to be wary of other people. Your brain's sole purpose is to keep you alive. So for safety reasons, you brain is going to pick up on any slight hint at danger; nonverbals, tone of voice, etc. It's all to keep you safe. You may consider it that you are more empathetic and can "feel what others feel" but that's just your brain heightening the alarms to see who is safe and who is not.
