Bathtub drowning is a significant risk for children under one year old, as well as the elderly and people with disabilities, with infants accounting for the majority of bathtub drownings in that age group. Bathtub drownings can happen quickly, requiring only one to two inches of water. For children, approximately two-thirds of in-home drowning deaths occur in bathtubs, and in total, there are an estimated 100 bathtub drowning deaths annually in the United States.

I've only had access to a shower in the three times I've moved. I haven't seen a bathtub in 20+ years.

A strange PSA for a Steam Forum. I wonder what the genesis of this topic is.

It doesn't interest me.
How many people slip in the shower, perhaps it is safer for everyone to forgo showers and baths for safety. Would that mean gamers are safer than the average person?

good point, i almost died slipping in the shower several times..

had my life flash before me
Thats why i dont plan to get kids
This is why kids need to be watched 24/7. Even after my kid turns 13 I am still gonna be wary.

I know because I was a goofy kid who always hurt myself from my own stupidity or get into major trouble like accidentally setting something on fire.

Thanks for the heads up. I've made it past the infant stage, but I'll definitely keep this in mind if I ever make it to elderly.

This is why I shower instead. Don't want to risk drowning.
