If demi-god maybe Hercules.
If mortal that's a really tough call.
- who is better in arm wrestling ?
- who's better at the rope tugging thingy ?
- who can pull the more Boeings by the strenght of it's beard/hairs/whatever ?
- who can (vertically) lift weights, the most heavy weights ?
- who has the bigger punching ?
Historical/mythical figures only ! No anime/silly things :p 'cause between invicible/onepunchman/whatever, we won't see the end of the barn ...
For the load-bearing column-toppling, that's Samson, but there are a lot of strenght feats that are ... possible.
samson best feat is slap swordman army, dont know if he is able to beat people with artillery and rifle
goliath lose against a stone on his head, so sniper shot going to be fatal against him
And i'm intrested in brute force in this topic :p
also hercules has best feats than samson
Hercules never really lost his strength.
Gawain's was dependent on the time of day, so he's out.
Goliath was felled by a pellet.
Achilles couldn't take an arrow to the...heel.
Thor needed his hammer.
Those are just off the top of my head. Hercules was the only one whose strength wasn't dependent on certain specific conditions. But he was also stupid and had no self-control.
Anyway :
Samson lost his supernatural strength when the Philistines, instructed by Delilah, cut his hair while he slept. He died after being blinded and captured by the Philistines. He was brought to their temple to entertain the crowd. He asked to lean against the supporting columns and then pushed against them with all his strength. This caused the building to collapse, destroying himself and everyone inside. By this time, his hair had grown back, returning the strength that he used to destroy the temple and take revenge on the Philistines.
Hercules died from a poisoned tunic given to him by his wife, Deianira, who was following the advice of the centaur, Nessus. The centaur's blood, mixed with the venom of the Hydra, was a powerful poison. Hercules, suffering unbearably, ordered his own funeral pyre to be built and threw himself onto the fire. After this, the gods raised him to Olympus, where he became immortal.
Given that Hercules possesses divine immortality, invulnerability, and far greater combat experience and warrior training, he can outmaneuver Samson.
