Hot Take: Mods Ruined Gaming and Here's Why
I miss the days when games were played as the devs intended. Now every game turns into a chaotic mess of anime skins, ultra-hardcore modes, or some Skyrim mod that turns dragons into Thomas the Tank Engine. Mods are basically just players saying, “I know better than the devs.” If you can’t enjoy the vanilla experience, did you even like the game to begin with?

I know I'm right.

Then why post?

The devs intended for Skyrim to be modded.

I like mods that add teleport markers and make grinding less tedious, red dead redemption 2 is one hell of a grinding game

Oblivion/Fallout3/New Vegas all completely tolerable without mods

Skyrim/Fallout4 you will see why they are necessary.

Do people even actually do like full level 81 all skills maxed out playthroughs of Skyirm using goofy mods like that? I personally use the Wildander modpack, and everything else seems to maintain some sort of, you know, realism feel and not overtly goofy stuff, besides the modpacks that use the combat mods that turn it into Dark Souls.

Entire games have been made from total conversion mods so I feel inclined to disagree

People forget that modding does include half life modding which includes but not limited to, Cry of Fear, Afraid Of Monsters, Grey, Underhell, Entropy Zero and it's sequel, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, Counter Strike, and so much more.

I like the non exploding car mod for Fallout 3 and the glowing ghoul perk for New Vegas

Skyrim/Oblivion/Fallout are all awful games made by a corrupt company. It doesn’t really matter whether they have mods or not

Man, I gotta play Fallout 3. How different is it compared to Fallout 4? I didn't really like the exploration in that game, you felt kinda forced into like a character since it was voiced and had an extensive backstory too, I also thought the atmosphere was kinda too goofy? I know the franchise is known for like dark humor, but it felt too forced.

You don't have to use them.

Disagree. These modders are able to add things to games, i have to scratch my head in why the developers didn't do it.

Sometimes the developers even scratch their heads wondering HOW the modders did it. :amadeus_happy:

I like Fallout 3, and Fallout New Vegas and have all the dlc's for both and Preston don't need you to go to another settlement to rescue it in either

let me tell you a story about this.......

back in the day there was a game called dota2.... and there were things called "servers" that people could select to be matched appropriately...

so one day valve makes a news post that says "the south americans are ruining the game! they can't keep it in their own region and it's just ruining the game."

and playing the game dota 2 I realise this issue and am like "HEY YOU! GO BACK TO YOUR OWN SERVER!"

and I get permabanned...

obviously some 2-faced hydra doesn't want me to play their contridiction of a game, eh?

People only mod games they believe are worth their time. No one "mods" games they don't like.

Now that would be wrong for many mods. Most mod creators like how the game they're modding is in the first place....

Your going to tell me that mod creators adding tanks and other vehicles to Gates of Hell, or new trains to Transport Fever 2, are saying they "know better than the devs", despite not changing anything the devs gave them?

Why are you trying to frame those people in a bad light?
