If you also understand the concept of chain-of-command then Hitler ordering a common soldier to do the deed is the same as pulling the trigger himself.
Now Kirk can be somewhat similar along the same lines (even if it may be a stretch), with statements such as the shootings in USA are a "necessity" for the sake of the 2nd amendment. There are more things that he publicly said/endorsed that were egregious. (for both moderates and leftists)
