"frothy"
Where did you hear such nonsense?
look but dont touch, touch but dont taste, taste but dont swallow.
Unfortunately true. Maga and their phony bologna "Christian" Nationalists are doing more damage to it's reputation than Arnaud Amalric or the Medici popes ever did.
Revelation 12 depicts the desire of the Red Dragon to consume. This is essentially a depiction of Nationalism. Revelation 13 goes into the mark of the beast, which is a depiction of Fascism.
In Exodus 32:5, where Aaron names the golden calf, various translations use differing names for God. Adonai, Jehovah, Yahwey, The Lord.
In Judges 11:29-40, we see a depiction of fascism. The call for a strong man to the detriment of the next generation. This passage associates fascism with "virgin sacrifices".
In 1 Samuel 8:8, the prophet Samuel links the call for a King, essentially similar to that of "Unitary Executive Theory", to that of idolatry in violation of the 1st Commandment.
1 Corinthians 7 speaks of a time crisis, and of abstaining. Conceptually, this is akin to the "men's underwear index", a matter of prudence. 1 Timothy 4:3 warns that the corrupt will forbid marriage.
When taken alongside 1 Cor. 7, and Judges 11:29-40, it can then be inferred that the forbidding of marriage may manifest as fear mongering, to the detriment of the next generation. Fear mongering being a method of which the Red Dragon seeks to consume, and turn Christianity into a Nationalist rod to subdue the populace.
