YouTube new UI is complete ass!
Who the hell thought it was good idea to slap some huge UI bar to the bottom of videos instead of the old slim one. It looks like it was designed for toddlers.
Why do you need to round the edges of every damn button and screen.
I absolutely hate this crap and their constant need of fixing things that are not broken.

Now a word from our sponsor;

Quinn suddenly heard a voice in his head which said 'DO NOT DRINK HER BLOOD! IT IS FULL OF STDS."

For old time's sake.
Are you talking about the app, or the PC?

The only difference I've seen is the comment section. It looks like they took a step in the right direction IMO. As for anything else I don't see the difference.

PC. Maybe you have not deleted the cookies for a while and it`s still on old UI. Had to wipe the cookies and now this humongous new UI bar is allover the videos.
They tried to use it few weeks back too but then re-rolled back to old version but looks like the new stupid version is here to stay now.
larger ui is better for higher resolution screens like 4k and streaming to tv

Looks like it was made for vision impaired toddlers.
On my TV's it is the WORST that I have ever seen it- in a landslide.

And they have taken away their badly broken categories and replaced it with it attempting to flood my feed with sheer and utter slop.

Just weeks ago, it knew that I clicked on good things and gave me a steady stream of good things.

Nope! Not any more!

And although I will be making my living on it full time when health returns, they don't get logins. Nope! When they do, it will be from an LLC and they get nothing to spy on. REFUSED.

In the meantime, I just don't go there much recently. I am kicking out the cable company, so the DVR needs to get drained.

There is more streaming than I could ever watch. I can go there and things I like and not deal with an ad laden slop fest.

Oh, and on my PCs, it rarely will play videos at all. My security indeed is working and they freak out when the spyware is SHUT DOWN.

No, I can put on things that I enjoy and stop wasting time on them.
The cynical part of me says it's for the same reason truck tailgates have 52 new functions now, and 500 more parts, than they did 40 years ago:

To give the workers work. Everyone from design to tool and die to marketing to assembly.

Same with the UI. To give the workers work.

It didn't need to be changed. Neither did the design of, say, this year's model of industrial mop bucket by Rubbermaid, or last year's model of string trimmer by Craftsman. It was fine already. But tool and die needs jobs, so change it. Then change it again next year. And again the following year.

It's welfare for workers, essentially. The change isn't for us, it's for them.
