Have you ever watched extreme disturbing content online?
Such as tremendously violent videos, for example from cartels and so on, one can find on certain sites.

?

I did and I gotta say, this somehow messed with my head, like visually being shown how horrible and evil humanity is, absolutely nasty.

What is your take on this?
And what do you think about people who find some of this stuff " funny "?

No, have you?
Yeah I watched some back when it was easy to access. Only 2 videos I remember were a woman pleasuring herself with the neck stump of a beheaded corpse and a video of a traffic accident from India where a truck driver drove over a motorcyclist, locked his brakes while on to of the cyclist and ground the cyclist in half and then all of the bystanders beat the trucker to death while the motorcyclist feebly dragged his top half a few feet and then bled out.

Didn't really bother me all that much though. I only remember those two because I am still not sure whether the first one was real or not, and I felt sorry for the biker in the second one that no one went to at least say something to him in his last moments, though the truck driver got what he deserved.

Only real takeaway is that I wouldn't want to live in India.
i think the real takeaway is I shouldn't have read your post.
I'm densitized to it, and that is not good
hot take: i think people shouldn't be voting and making policy without a direct understanding of the severity and brutality of what has happened, what is happening, and what can happen. you say some random nobody was, "tortured," in mexico and nobody bats an eye but when you see people being flayed alive while injected with drugs to keep them alive it can turn a person into an activist and makes one reassess their priorities. fortunately I think a lot of people in our military and security jobs are familiar with reality but it seems like our politicians live their life through a textbook.

I agree with you until you started talking about military and security trauma being helpful to your brain functioning. You still need to read books.
If I can see crazy stuff on the normal web, just imagine what kind of stuff is in the dark web.
There is a saying that I’ve always live by. “Once seen it cannot be unseen.” That’s why I always close my eyes when I see scary stuff.

pretty much the same thing you see on the normal web. for some reason the fbi never goes after gore/snuff like it does child porn so really the only difference might be the cp. darkweb communities are also less judgmental but i suspect that if you somehow found your way onto their servers you wouldn't care about that anyway.
Regardless I wouldn’t want to find out. I’ve seen a lot of disturbing things in my life and I don’t think my innocent brain can take it.
Not really my thing
