As a bystander if you saw a woman getting assaulted, would you do anything?
Let's say you see a creep trying to kiss her when she clearly doesn't want to be kissed. Would you do anything? I wouldn't.

Why should I do anything as a bystander? She is a strong independent woman who don't need no man. Next thing I know I will be charged with an essay for accidentally touching her trying to get him off. No thanks.

Also, what's in it for me? Why should I help her? I stand to win nothing. Clout? I don't care about clout. Maybe he has a knife and stabs me. Nobody would help me if I were in trouble. I saw plenty of MEN getting assaulted with no help provided. And I'm talking actual assault. Not some fat ugly woman they don't like trying to kiss them.

Yeah it happened before at the pub and I punched him in the mouth straight onto the ground. Because he was touching a girl and she kept saying no.

Won't achieve anything with my noodle arms, I'm afraid.

this is what would happen in my head: i see the woman gets assaulted by some thugs and i intervene and tell them to apologize and go home. they laugh and mock me and try to hit me too. then i single handedly beat up all 10 of them then drive the girl home. this is what happens in reality: i see the woman get assaulted, i intervene and gets the ♥♥♥♥ beaten out of me then next thing i know i wake up in hospital.
It depends if I have time to run back to my mech to properly turn the creep into cheese.

Bro, how can you have a Warrior Within pfp and say something like this? Need I remind you that the Prince immediately jumped in to save Kaileena from the evil goth chick?

Prince ain't a coward, and as he said: "From where I'm from, we face our opponents, and if our opponent is unarmed, we offer them a sword!"

no i would just watch it play out as women say "we dont need men" until they do as they can do everything themselves. Unless someone is of importance to me I would not do anything and that list is very low.

75% chance that she'll turn hostile to you for doing it and report you to the police for harassing her. 100% chance that the guy will also report you to the police for assaulting him. And because I am not a "visitor" the police will actually turn up and I will actually go to prison over it. 0% chance of getting anything out of it. 0% value in either of the two people in the interaction.

If it is not someone you know then just walk away.

Oh also for anyone who actually will step in, remember to call the police about it immediately. There's a doctrine, though I can't remember the name of it, where the first person who calls in about an event is treated as the victim party unless there's overwhelming evidence to the contrary and if you do not call in that is used as evidence that you had malicious intent. You should call in immediately any time you get in a fight or have to defend yourself. Contrary to what you would assume, criminals and aggressors always call in when someone fights back (though naturally they lie and try to paint themselves as the victims). IF you don't cover yourself you go to prison.

Its sadly not that simple OP
Without underpinning knowledge of both individuals and the dynamics of the relationship your intervention could cause more later harm than good.
For instance a guy trying it on first time with a girl he sees on a night out is different to them being a couple.
Im not going to get into it but you roll the dice on intervention where the situation isn't blatantly obvious. Better to inform the public services and let them intervene when your in a grey area.

Pretty much this, with the actual justice system if you give the assaulter a good punch that send him to sleep, depending the origins of the assaulter and yours you will likely be the one getting charged.

I don't really like to get myself into 3rd party encounters. Not saying I won't do anything. I would still keep a safe distance and call 911. Because they are armed then I am screwed.

I'll just call cop or security.
Don't have the courage or skill to be a hero, but a phone call is not much of a hassle.
I would intervene being mindful not to touch either party instead i would creating a barrier of blatant physical or social.

Depedning what was going on, first part may be making a show of 'hi so great to see you again! ' to the woman
To a simple' hi, i am lost, to break the situation '
or a ' That's enough of that, nobody wants to see it ' and stand between the two.

*The initial part is what gives the options for further interaction. If you go in heavy handed then that is likely the only options you will have.
