The first amendment to the U.S. Constitution was in regards to the freedom of speech. Disagreement is necessary for a government to function, "constructive criticism".

Fascism is mostly a vanity, a conceit. Criticism is sharing power with the people, but Fascism is rooted in not sharing power.

Fascism is simple. It's when you're forced to not believe your own eyes and ears. It's when you are forced to "unlearn" what you know to be true. It's when you finally start believing that 2+2=5. Only when you are confused and dumb can you be fully controlled.
