so the default position is nothing is after death correct? yet when i ask why all i get are these reasons.

there is no proof of life after death. *can never be proof*
it makes no sense to have life after death because the brain is you. * debatable*
we aren't special everything has an end. * we are special the fact that i can type this proves that*

now i think thats the default position because we are raised that way just like you are most likely to be christian in a christian dominated space, you are more likely to think about death this way when its drilled in to your head at a young age.

so my question is why does it make sense to you? and for the record i'm not religious nor am i afraid of death.
i just find the smugness of people who believe this way to be kinda funny like its the most obvious thing ever and you are dumb for questioning it.

Arrogant people, take the default position, that they somehow 'have knowledge' that, for example there is no God. How they can know such a thing is beyond me.

the default position is likely the Socrates position, where we know less than we think we know.

Arrogant people, have a hard time grasping that there can be anything in the universe that is more intelligent than their own mind.

kinda true i respect people who have curiosity and an open mind not someone who thinks they know something for sure.

i cant say i know what happens but i have had instances where people have passed but before i knew it or was told of there passing i was given what i would say are signs by them or maybe
by the increase in thoughts of others.... but signs did happen.....

for instance a person might have had some saying and for some reason i would hear that
saying constantly until i found out they had passed... and that may have been a few weeks
later after their passing.

so i dont know what that means... but it is a bizarre experience... to have and it has happened
with several people i have known... but it has also not happened with others... or maybe i just
did not know their intricacies well enough to pick up on them....

make of that what you will... but it is a experience after someone has passed...
