Why are so many games just trying to be as frustratingly difficult as humanly possible.
it's been happening to me for quite some time that no matter what i play these days i am getting torn apart.

some games claim to have a easy mode but it's really just not that easy.
sometimes you just want to breeze thru a game.

Buy easier games.
for example i played brutal hexen the other day
on the lowest difficulty a mere bat did 25% of my hp.. but oddly the option just above that.. is lower.

Modern games are simple lol but they try too rely on thinking which is flawed, try some retro games like maybe the 16-bit era (Sega Genisis/MegaDrive) (TARGET EARTH/ASSAULT SUIT LEYNOS) if you actually want too see what an actual hard game is like.

I share somewhat similar frustration except with games being too easy or having easy mode. I want to play with a little bit of challenge from the start, also I don't want to be forced to play easy mode, becoming worse at game because I played already at normal, but I have to because I want to complete the game fully and I don't wanna miss out on anything.

i grew up in the 80's yeah some games were a grind to make them last longer.
dying once and having to start at zero.

but today.. these days. i really dont need to be tortured.

then increase the difficulty.. because there are usually less rewards, unlocks for playing on easy.

It's not just about the rewards, it's the whole experience of playing a different mode.

i guess that is true as well.

i usually start on easy to get into the vibe and then ramp up as needed once i'm used to the gameplay.

So what you're essentially saying is, you want games to have a "super-duper easy mode"?

Result of forums full of internet tough guys screaming about how "very hard" is too easy and all games are made for casual babies.

some already are, some it does not fit in.
but some games start off hard in any case.
some players are so bad at admitting defeat.. they play with hax and cheats on the hardest difficulty just for achievements and glory. it creates a unrealistic statistic.

Given the recent pattern, maybe more "cozy" or "sandbox" games would be better?
Which games do you have in mind when you’re having the issue?

I know some games like Baby Steps and Wings of Vi, the difficulty is the point and a difficult game is the sort of game they wanted to make.

There are a large number of cozy games on Steam.
the thing is when you get slapped around enough in real life you tend to want a win for once in your life.

so many games i enjoy, like sub level zero, good old descent vibes.
but the easy mode does not really make it easy.
it lacks proper feedback on when death is near and the warning comes too late.

i know it's a roguelike so when you die.. you die and start over.

doom eternal i played on easy but ir became such a mission to get ammo i got frustrated at the needless mechanics just to use my shotgun.

cyberpunk 2077.. oops i bumped a pedestrian.. now the ncpd is gona force me to get out my car.. hide in a corner till it expires while my life drifts past.

and then... moba's... idk why i have to have riot games remove my ability to see the enemy so they can win.
