Predator Badlands - First Reactions (Very Positive!)
“PREDATOR: BADLANDS is the visual proof we need to crown Dan Trachtenberg the pioneer of the PREDATOR franchise. With each movie he continues to break the boundaries of what this franchise is capable of as he switches from an action/horror to a sci-fi/fantasy adventure.…” — @LuminousDagger

“Predator Badlands is a cosmic buddy road movie and it’s all killer no filler. Dan Trachtenberg smartly maneuvers the franchise to a grander scale than just another survival horror. It might not be as traditionally gory, but I had a blast with it. #PredatorBadlands” — @EammonJacobs

“Initial Predator Badlands thoughts — absolutely a Dark Horse adaptation. Fans of the wider EU will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. Leaned heavy into the adventure/fantasy angle & really showed the genre-bending/flexibility of the Predator.” — @_CorporalHicks

“Just got out of #PredatorBadlands and it’s one hell of an action ride. A brutal, emotional journey of a Predator finding acceptance. Some of the best hand-to-hand combat I’ve seen in ages. Don’t miss this one on the big screen!”

“Predator: Badlands is friggin’ awesome. Inventive action, organic comedy, and a story I was fully invested in. Dan Trachtenberg continues to push all the right buttons with this franchise. Impressive.” — @AmonWarmann

“Dan Trachtenberg’s #PredatorBadlands is an epic spectacle that takes us on a deep dive into Yautja mythology. More sci-fi epic than a traditional Predator film. It takes some big swings that don’t always land. Despite its bold approach, legacy fans may be left disappointed.” — @philthecool

“I just saw it… and it’s so much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun. It’s NOT a ‘classic’ Predator film… but honestly the writing and the story and the characters are so good that I was completely on board. Thia and Dek were incredible characters.” — u/Unhappy_Scratch_9385

hey, hell yeah! but i would say predator has been back for quite awhile. "prey" and "predator killer of killers" were both incredible films, so i was happy to see that dan trachtenberg was directing the new predator film as well (he directed the previous 2)

i did hear the new alien telly show was pretty good as well. and though it had some issues, i quite liked alien romulus and thought it was a massive improvement over the last few alien films. i am forever a bit sad that we never got to see neill blomkamps cancelled alien film (he made district 9, chappie, elysium)

i was unsure about the idea of one of the yautja being in the protagonist role, but the concept of making him a young teenage one out on his first real hunt is such an awesome premise. and he has a cute robot waifu sidekick, whats not to like?

Looks like a fun and entertaining action/monster flick...I am very much looking forward to watching it...
Oh thank the many gods.

I was worried for a second that Hollywood might have to come up with an original I.P.

Whew. That was close.

aye, but i would say give it a chance. the past two predator films have both been extremely class, and did attempt to be much different than previous entries. one took place in the 1700s, and the other was an anthology animated film that took place throughout history. and this one is from a predators point of view as the protagonist, instead of humans being the protagonists.
