None of them, how about normal normalness?

both of them are unavoidable and you will experience them in the future so pick the one you'd dislike less
Fake niceness there's no point being mean
I'd prefer kind honesty but that is hard to achieve. Between those two I prefer honest and mean, being falsely kind can have more damage in the long run, shooting delusions and flaws down sooner feels like the right thing to do. Sure there are many ways to go about it, but sometimes it cannot be avoided to be blunt/rude/etc.

Fake niceness is a deceptive façade used to gain favor, often involving gossip, inconsistency, and a lack of accountability, while honest meanness is blunt and direct, and can sometimes be a form of tough love. Fake niceness is motivated by a hidden agenda and can be manipulative, whereas honest meanness is characterized by straightforwardness, though not necessarily malicious intent to cause pain.

The key difference lies in the underlying motivation; fake niceness is about appearances, while honest meanness is about being direct, for better or worse.
blunt truth. i hate fake people.
I'm blunt. I just hammer the point across in one fell swing.

No that's meanness. Fake kindness is just being polite and keeping your negative opinions to yourself. It's better that way.
In my experience, fake nice people are always angling to screw you over. And I never find brutal honesty nearly as "mean" as others project.

And if someone is truly malicious, when they're honest about it you have a better chance to deal with it or defeat them. Versus a malicious deceiver who schemes insidiously, meaning you will likely never see it coming.

So it's an easy choice in the end. Because regardless of their intentions, a fake person is a much more potentially dangerous liability.
Fake nice.
Life taught me flattery will get you everywhere. If done correctly.
varies based on the context tbh
There is nothing nice about fake niceness. Telling a fat person or an alcoholic they should carry on as they are is meaner then telling them the truth. Honesty can be brutal, but it is the truth. The real problem these days is people have got too weak to handle the truth.

You are far out there, what you have described is actual kindness, or more so, one form of it as politeness is a form of respect, while fake kindness is insincere and self-serving.

Politeness is about respecting social boundaries and showing courtesy, even without personal feelings of warmth, to create a positive atmosphere. Fake kindness, on the other hand, involves a person being nice only when it benefits them and often lacks genuine respect, using it as a manipulation tactic to gain something from others.

And there is a difference between having common courtesy and pretending to be nice only for ulterior motives :TOIlogo:

Anyway honesty is better.
honesty does not justify being mean. fakeness is lack of interest. neither of those are good to have traits. nor do i like/want to associate with either
