I don't remember there being many online games in the 90's unless you are talking about Lan parties or something like that. But the early 2000's had ridiculous amounts of cheaters. That hasn't actually changed. There is still tons of hackers and cheaters to this day. As for bots........well......Diablo 2 did have botting where the bot would run levels, kill bosses, and pick up only the unique items. So bots did technically exist back then.
And just if anyone is wondering this poor kid is justifying games being shovelware now just to argue with zero knowledge
...when You complain about the "youth".
Like these two are the general indicators.
...when You start talking about responsibilities / financial opportunities instead of fun things.
...when You talk about work or children, like 90% of the time.
...when You think You´ve seen everything.
...when You start telling people what life is all about, because it worked for You.
These are mild indicators.
...When You think You can´t improve or learn something new any more, and Your highest developed skill is ignorance.
It could be an indicator, but it´s something which happens on all age brackets.
What? I'm not justifying shovelware. I'm saying that hacking and cheating always existed. Not sure what you are on about.
