yeah. the jackass tv show and films are some of my favourites ever. and i actually prefer many of the prank segments more than the stunt segments because they are all hilarious. sacha baron cohens like borat and bruno and such are essentially prank films as well, as is "bad grandpa" based on the bits from the jackass films.

YouTube had a measly 2ish years of real public trolls so you just had to be there

eric andre my beloved. i adore his show so much, hes definitely an amazing prankster. reading the behind the scenes stuff about his show is hilarious, like for one season he did not shower or clean himself for like a month and actively made himself and the entire studio stink like rotting garbage and grossness to weird guests out.

Scare tactics.

Yeah, I remember some guy just cutting down grapefruits, minding his own business, and his "friend" ran towards him and dropkicked him so he fell and got hurt.

There still many new prank videos on youtube, but the reaction of the person getting pranked is what's funny.

I think the difference of prank videos of the yester years and the ones of now is that people went out into the public and acted weird for laughs where people today literally make people feel like their life is in danger which doesn't make it funny. It reminds me of the dude who scared some person walking down the street so bad that the person shot the streamer dead in self defense because they were genuinely scared.

Even things like Jackass and stuff had consent for the most part and they didn't go around antagonizing people into a threatened state.
