Incorporating exercise into video games.
Recently when playing Openfront I set my name to "10 pushups if I die"
I ended up doing 200 pushups that evening.

Have you guys done anything similar to this?

(This is the third time I've tried posting this. I guess it was getting auto deleted because I put a link to the game)

This must of been what Microsoft was thinking with the Kinect.
You could also use your PC while standing up instead of sitting down. This is important if you spend any significant time in front of a PC. Get a taller desk or prop up whatever you've got and get rid of the chair.
I wonder how many people played Track and Field with the Power Pad as intended, rather than just slapping the floor with the hands.

Try playing Midnight Suns and doing 10 star jumps every time a superhero says they hate their team mates or complains about having a difficult upbringing.

Bonus round: 5 burpees every time Blade posts on social media

I've also seen wii fit as well.
I do exercise... but its more like a lot of walking rather than a workout.

...VRChat has motion capturing as a way to exercising as well... unless you count sex in VRChat with full body motion tracking as a workout. Cause moving your arms a lot and not moving your entire body does not count as exercise if you ain't lifting weights which most of the time VRChat players don't actually do a lot.

I used to do squats between respawns in For Honor.

Not a damn thing wrong with getting your ass up and moving during downtime.
That's not a healthy way to exercise.

Why?
If it works, it works. Just keep at it and eventually you'll get to where you want to be.

Wii & X360 Kinect already done it years ago.

I was sitting here watching this thread to see how long it would take to bring up the Wii Fit exercise system.

The presence of the Wii Fit avatar in Smash Brothers Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch would lead me to believe that the Wii Fit is still in the zeitgeist. Ergo, nobody wanted to state the obvious. The Nintendo Wii preceeded the XBox 360 Kinect, with the Wii ("Revolution") being announced in 2004, and the XBox 360 Kinect ("Project Natal") being announced in 2009.

The classic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) having a precursor to the Wii Fit, with the "Power Pad", being mentioned earlier kind of resolved the matter.

There was a Power Pad back then, a Wii Fit exercise board later replaced it, cameras rivaled it, and now we're in the JoyCon era.

Back to the Future II might be perturbed of the notion of being 180 degrees incorrect ("You have to use your hands!?").
i know everyone hates motion controls but the nintendo wii has some really incredible exercise games. the idea of exercising while you play games is ingenious, and although the wii was very successful motion controls have since kind of died out other than in VR. playing wario ware or muscle march and sweating myself into a puddle was amazingly fun.

ring fit adventure on the switch is a pretty good modern version of this. fun game, good exercise

I like doing 20 pushups every time I lose a match. I've tried on death challenges but it leads me to change my gameplay and it isn't ideal.

I do often use Ring Fit Adventure on my Switch, but I've been meaning to get more equipment for exercising whilst gaming. Such as a standing desk, or a treadmill.
