What went wrong in India?
I really don't understand why its getting filthier every year. Why does India have such a persistent cultural attitude towards littering? People are happy to throw their rubbish on the streets in 2025.

Compare this to the poorer industrious areas of the United Kingdom of 1925, and people picked up their trash. The busy streets even back then were clean. So why can't they manage this 100 years later?

It sucks that you can play the unwinnable Google Maps Garbage Game where there is waste on every single street.

India is a beautiful country is it not? Hindus have respect for life do they not? There are patriots in India are they not? How did things get this bad?

I respected my principle when i was in my second year at intermediate, He kept calling the school together and telling us not to litter and to go around picking the trash up and putting it in the bin.

Just sucked that i always put it in the bin but the other kids didn't get the message.
they allegedly went to the moon couple of years ago
interesting topic. me and some civil engineers were discussing the sewage which is visible from low orbit in the oceans near there, and there really isn't any treatment infrastructure to speak of there for water treatment.

i have no opinion either way, but i would suggest better controls on the waste, because exposure to such is having a bad effect on people living in the less affluent areas of all ages. and well, even the affluent areas will suffer, as these waste products will make its way into the food.. there is no escape from pollution.

if there was one bright spot in the situation, the ocean, once it adapts, will probably produce the highest yields of shellfish and invertebrates that filter feed the microorganisms out of there. but i'm not an ocean guy, i just know a little bit about microorganisms, it could be that its a net negative.

the reason i say it though, is some houses that have improper plumbing installs / idiot house builders where the toilets either accidentally or by broken piping, flush directly into the dirt under the house for years end up having beautifully green yards. just pray they never directly expose themselves to the waste lol.
This is purely speculation, but perhaps once the population density reaches a certain level,
the people just don't give a damn any more.
Education and government doesn't have an effort in reinforcing laws and redesigning their biggest slums with housing infrastructures have been overconvuluted till the point toilet is shared in slum.

And the fact is that it is intentional designed that way so the poors can't never find ways to rise up and they can exploit them more and more with doing jobs for forgein companies with low wages

Used to be a clean place until the British took it over.

Appears they figured out keep it trashy so the riff raff won't try and take it over again.

Aryan imposed caste system started breaking down after the British left. There are probably ways of systematically brain damaging them just like here in the west, also. Too bad dumbasses in the US argue with me over this, while we slowly become a functionally third world country with a techno-dystopian overlay.
It's just waaaay too many people and waaaay too many poor people there to handle everything as efficiently as in other countries.
They were forced to industrialize so instead of ecological safer outhouses and compost, they were forced into western wasteful sewage in drinking water style elimination.
It's culture
It all started with one old lady redeeming a card....
