Dismemberment in games
One of the first FPS games I remember playing on my childhood PC was soldier of fortune. And I remember how insanely satisfying it was to blow off heads and limbs.Ever since then I've really enjoyed games that are a little gory / extra with it. I mean it's obviously not very realistic. But it's fun. I wish more games did it. Like in MW2019/WZ they had tracers with HE, it was so satisfying to kill someone with those. In cyberpunk 2077 the combat feels so visceral and explosive because you're literally blowing people to bits and copping their limbs off with your katana, mantis claws or laser wire thingy. In the witcher, when you're swirling around with your sword, chopping off limbs and heads, spraying blood all over the battlefield, while the Polish lady blares "LA LALA LA LALALALA" and the Turkish saz's strings ping in your ears it's just .. great.

I don't remember what I was going to say. I always start writing just as my edibles are about to kick in. They've kicked in.

Yeh, more violence in games, pretty please. Also, I kinda wonder why it's so satisfying? It's not like I have any desire to do any of that irl. I wouldn't enjoy seeing any of that happen to anyone. In fact as someone that has done OSINT I've seen too much and actively avoid any gore. I also hate those weird gorepron movies like Saw. But in games I just really love violence.

I have the feeling that it is done for optimization purposes for consoles. Ready or Not cut their gore dismemberment to make it more easily crossplatform for consoles

The funny thing is dismemberment in games never made me want to dismember anybody, but boomers forcing it to be removed actually does.

There was dismemberment in Oblivion?
Why is it satisfying?

It gives you a visual on your 'accomplishment' your brain is rewarded and so rewards you with chemicals.

The guns also feel more powerful, and so does you.

I wish COD and BF had the balls to be like SOF.

You need to get help, and I don't mean about your substance use.
