[MEME] when you get an achievement
i always hated it when video games constantly give you an "achievement" just for doing the most simple, mundane things, so i decided to make a meme about it.

Achievement for starting the game.
I'm pretty sure all the pointless milestone achievements like "successfully walk out of the tutorial room" are just there to generate player engagement metrics.
This is giving me NMS milestone flashbacks.

You've taken 10 steps and here's you achievement. We don't care that you're being shot at by enemies and the achievement popup takes away most of your control for 10 seconds.

oh my god yes, i HATED that in no mans sky. its one of the reasons why i stopped playing it
Can't you turn it off? In terms of immersion, it only breaks the connection between the listener and the narrator. If a storybook is supposed to be an intimate conversation between the reader and the writer, then displaying intrusive notifications does the opposite of achieving that.

In some cases that would actually make sense.
Not really achievements
