Your first videogame addiction?
Well ... first game you realised you wanted to live your life as a gamer.

Transport Tycoon - yes, of all humble beginings. I spent an insane amount of time on that thing as a 7 year old. And FS2002. And SimCity2000 ... god ... I feel old.

Console: Played Super Mario briefly on someones SNS when i was like 4 years old, still barely remember playing that. My first game though was Banjo-Kazooie, and still one of my favorite games to date, Banjo-Tooie could count as being an Even Better Sequel.
PC: A bunch of Lego games, Island, Rock Raiders, Legoland, Medieval. I believe i still have the discs of them somewhere.

by most accounts I knew what my hobby would be even before games came to the house
It all started with Dungeons and Dragons

Actually I have had a few realizations, Baulders Gate Dark Alliance (For PS2 & Xbox) & Prince Of Persia Warrior Within (Ps2, Xbox, & On Steam). i think after playing these two games i knew that i would be a great gamer, and i would like to learn more about Game Design.

Bango-Kazooie/Tooie on the N64. That and 007. Those games are what made me want to play more games.

Lol, don't feel old Wilkes. I started with IntelliVision. My dad and I used to play used to play some bunk tank game and another involving B-17 bombers. I think the actual name of the game was "B-17" He thought it was a good way to raise a military son, exposing me to various sorts of tactical and otherwise military simulation. It was, make no mistake, I'm still alive, but it didn't go the way he planned.

I leanred more than military tactics, I learned to love video games.

I remember Sim City 2000. It was a stressful game to say the least, and quite depressing actually.

It was quite hard. I loved the graphics at the time.

I still remember 3 things vividly: 1:Getting into science beause I blew up a Nuclear Power Station 2: NEVER building an airport near a tall city with no fire engines, and similarliy 3: don't do the same with Microwave powerstation.

You could say at 7, I wasn't a good mayor! :KOh:

I can only remember the strange music, the terrible advisor avatars and how ugly the power grid/water mains UI was. I could never get it right, and my residential zones would just go all poor and smelly.

And my bad, it was Sim City 3000 (Released 1999) that I played.
