More people than just Europe would have to care for it to be elevated to a world war.

Poland's problems are the U.S.A's. problem because Poland is a N.A.T.O. ally, and unlike most of the other allies, Poland has actually been making a good faith effort to meet its defense spending obligations.[www.usnews.com]

Trump should move to defend Polish territorial territory if it is determined that this is an attack against Poland. Looks like this is under investigation[time.com] though.
