It's not so difficult.
I know right. Numbers, numbers. Math, math.
The reason points are NOT auto is because gear dictates your build. For instance on my poison Necromancer it would be logical to pour points into health and mana, but for the Trang-oul armor set you have to pour points into STR. STR is a completely useless stat for a necromancer, but the armor set bonuses make it worth while.
This is why you have to allocate your own points. I believe on default c is the character page and t is I believe the skill tree. There is a lot of weird gear, stat, and skill combos out there. Charms are also a big deal later on.
