I know a ton of jobs that are just like that.
One was one of mine- as a trainer.
There can be all kinds of things that you know- and you better be very careful about what you say or not.
There are reasons why you had better be licensed and insured and then don't say or do anything stupid to risk them.
I never had a client get into distress- but a common example is if there is a hint of that- you stop the work out and call them an ambulance.
They can decline it. But heaven help the trainer who failed to take these steps anyways. Imagine if they kept the workout going and something truly went wrong- such as a heart attack.
It sucks that people have to think this defensively. It's the only way though.
And they spend night and day deferring. Defer defer defer.
The best ones say very little. When asked questions about anything that they are not licensed in the whole name of the game is to say "I may know someone qualified to tell you what you need."
Even if they know the answer. No. If you don't hold a professional license for that, then don't touch it!
If i randomly came across it and didn't know anyone i would pretend the lever is broken and apologize
Then its kind of like schrödinger's cat...however the tracks were aligned with the lever mechanism to begin with was how it was going to happen
Other than legal view, even from moral view I still won't touch that lever.
Doing nothing isn't always "legal"
There's always another problem.
Will the circle be unbroken?
Yeah some countries have a 'duty to rescue', but wonder how that'll play out when you have to kill 1 person who would have been fine should you have not 'volunteered' them.
On a serious note the trolly problem really blows up my brain.
