Science closes in on life's origin
Just because science doesn't have the answers today doesn't mean it won't tomorrow.

No magic necessary!

I got home, put things away, ate...

And I have a video on that exact subject in the background.

I have some guesses on where it is going. It should be interesting.
You mean the thread? I think certain people are going to keep their distance.
Or the opposite.

We all know what they are going to say.

There always will be "that" guy.
I want to see someone dis Popular Mechanics as a source.
I know. Here it's only 10- so some of them may not be drunk at the keyboard enough yet.

Give em' some time.
News is from 3 years ago-7 years ago- 15 years ago.. Still reading about half life 2 episode 3 and that was done last year.

Could tell if was TIDE, Hasbro, Dr.Pepper, or Kleenex that was product placement this time? Last time was Vespa, Campbells, Grey Goose, and some kind of tar paper with dried vintage leaf.

Some assemble required, own personal life at the back to order.

Happy?

I mean, its kind of magical if we follow it all the way down. I personally love chemistry and its amazing what it can do alongside the laws of physics. Also, I am entranced by quantum physics, even if I can't do some of the mathematical stuff or fully grasp some of the concepts.

Carbon atoms, making carbon compounds, then forming more and more complex compounds with other elementary particles and elements, eventually leading up to complex life organisms. That's mind blowing to me, honestly.
That is the thing with Carbon.

It is a common notion that there are a bunch of elements. They must all be the same right?

No!!!

It is mind blowing, but the more you look into it the more it seems organization is just what matter does. From crystal lattices to bumble bees, matter likes to be organized.

It wasn't until years after leaving school that when I heard the simple notion of if an element is odd or even that it could change it's behavior.

I almost shook my head at the simplicity.

Big! But you know, part of me wishes we never find any viable mechanism for abiogenesis. Panspermia, if the hypothesis was somehow confirmed, would answer two great questions at once and create so many more.

Panspermia just pushes abiogenesis somewhere else, it doesn't do away with it.

True, but from super tiny atoms and compounds and molecules to eventually flora and fauna-- its just awesome to think about such intricate, complex organization after enough time :)
We do know that material transfers on a regular basis. We are seeing increasing evidence backing this up.

But it does beg the question of since we only know of life here- even if material is flying from place to place- is this the only place that had life itself. If not, what % is it?

Now, the building blocks, that is easier. Those can be common, like to assemble in certain configurations... Got it.

But just how assembled?
rather believe keep painting walls with the notion makes it new again might one day finally blend together with everything trapped between each layer and a gas exchange just turn to gold. course then everyone doing lead abatement would be outta of a job or would they just become house miners? demolition experts?

If there is not enough space to pack carbon back into the ground and it causes layering to occur heat and pressure and turns into some kind of strange life form: Celestial are real?
