They're super cool and one of the reasons hockey is the best and most based sport in the USA.

I like goalie fights because they are so padded up that they can't even really do much and just fall down lol

The guy survived. There was a combat medic from Vietnam in attendance who went out onto the ice and pinched his jugular which saved his life. Pretty lucky.

The trainer for the team was the combat vet. It wasn't a spectator.

Malarchuk's life was saved due to quick action by the Sabres' athletic trainer, Jim Pizzutelli, a former US Army combat medic who had served in the Vietnam War.
