Damn, that makes sense. I would chalk up maybe 2 of my 5+ bans to that reason. The rest I was being a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a human being, so it was definitely warranted.

Yeah, for example there's a few fairly hard left wingers here who can't go more than a couple of posts without some kind of veiled insult (or actual overt insult). Most of the time their posts just get left alone and even in the rare instances where they go so far the mods can't make excuses for it they only catch 24 hour bans, despite the fact they've had several already and bans are supposed to escalate in duration and do for conservative posters.

Unfortunately it is an unavoidable dynamic. That's just the mindset of the kinds of people who seek petty power like moderator status.
