I wouldn't be surprised if that's why it was a broken mess, internet wouldn't shut up about it for the longest time.

What exactly is the deal with this game and it's hype? It looks fine but as far as I can see, it doesn't seem to do anything that hasn't been done before.

It has been anounced 2018 and always got delayed until it kind of shadowdropped this year. Hollow knight is a S-tier game and the devs said multiple times they want to up the ante trifold for Silksong. This game is amassing hype for 7 years.

Watch this game outsell the current AAA slop dollar for dollar as they sell 3-4x as many copies at $20 as the AAA studios will at $80.
