I am only playing through because the switch 2 is sat there gathering dust so it may as well be used for something other than a paper weight. People cream over pokemon especially the cards but I do not see why. It is kind of sad tbh.

Nah. Red is amazing. I played it through again when I got my Nintendo Switch with Let's Go, Pikachu! which is a remake of Pokemon Red. I can confirm that Red is still amazing.
The latest versions have lost the exploration and wonder that the first game had. Too much talking, too much railroading.
I haven't played Palworld yet because my PC is a potato, but I think a reason it's so popular is because it recaptured that feeling that Red had where you're exploring this new world and capturing all these interesting monsters, and having this nice open world experience.
