Collective Shout: Legality is not the defining factor in the censorship of Steam games
The group initially targeted games focused on controversial taboo topics, contacting Visa and Mastercard, and forcing online stores like Steam and itch.io to delist dozens of games.

In a new interview, Caitlin Roper, campaigns manager at Collective Shout, revealed that "legality is not the defining factor" in the games it targets, stating that men who are defending the games "perpetrate crimes of violence against women."

"Our work focuses on combating the sexual objectification and exploitation of women and girls, so we focus our energy there," says Roper. Collective shout, an activist group overseen by Project 2025 are focused on banning games that display violence against women.

How does a small activist group like Collective Shout dictate to huge companies?

Wait, you're telling me Project 2025 is about banning gooner games!? Dude, if you had this info earlier, Donald J. Trump wouldn't have been elected.

Read and research the authoritarian policies of Project 2025.

Ain't nobody got time for that.
It's not the USA that's directly funding these people.
It's big global banking firms like Blackrock and Vanguard .

During the Biden administration some of that money was funneled through USAID and Homeland Security- but DOGE shut most of that down.

I'm sure in 5-10 years we'll find out the new middle-man source of their funding. Just in time for it to shift again.

Trump is already making Texas teachers hang the Ten Commandments in their classrooms. Gooner games are too sexual for a Christian authoritarian police state.

Somebody has to race against the dying of light. And you don't want it to be you. Let lambs be lambs

It's horseshoe theory.
Radical Left and Radical Right entities are both against heterosexual gooner content.

I don't see what this thread is trying to say, really.

Of course it's not about legality. The games that were withdrawn weren't illegal. It's about what this protest group sees as "unhealthy".

But I don't really see why discuss it here. Governments and companies have long given in to the noisy minority. They just avoid trouble if they can. It's nothing new.
Haha “Collective Shout”
More like Collective REEEEEEEEE
Good, where do I help them ban more "games" and make those "creators" look for another job?

The Collective REEEEEE won’t just stop at gooner games. Knowing Karen’s, they’ll probably come for real decent games next.

They described GTA V as a "video game that encourages players to brutally murder women for entertainment" The game was banned from Target and Kmart retail chains in Australia that year, for which the group claimed responsibility.

I see. So they've been disingenuous morons for quite a while now.

Most of the games I play (2D video games, not visual novels or war/football simulators) don't have genders involved at all so I'm not bothered.
