It's for PC and Mobile.
Cause it's either that or play skyrim with guns mod.
There really is no end, you just move onto a new house and start over.
And you can buy it independently of Steam so it will never go off-line.
Mount and Blade Warband or Mount and Blade Fire and Sword.
You put them on normal difficulty and don't use cheats, they are time well spent games.
Warband is more swords and so on.
Fire and Sword is shooters and blades think musketeers.
The general thing of the games is sandbox, you are placed on a map and told do what you like stay a small time bandit / bandit catcher or build up to a grand army under your command and take war to kingdoms.
Otherwise I'd suggest looking into arcade shooters (or shmups). Stuff along the lines of Gradius or Mushihimesama (or any CAVE game tbh). Easy to pick up, hard to master, and really fun to go for score in. There's so many of these that you can jump between them if you want some variety.
Guild Wars 2 is free, has looting, progression system is good, isn't too grindy.
