WE did this…
Look at what we had 😢 and we killed it.

We thought we were just gonna buy everything from Amazon and have our cake and eat it too, without consequences.

Yeah, it’s sad to look back and realize how much of that magic is gone. Walking into a big toy store back then really felt special — the atmosphere, the crowds, the shelves stacked with stuff you could only dream of. Online shopping is convenient, but it will never replace that feeling of wandering through aisles and discovering things by surprise. We traded a real experience for comfort, and sometimes it feels like we lost more than we gained.
10 minutes in at the Lego section...
Mom casually carrying a package with a neon green and a flagrant orange pair of toy uzis with magazines like its nothing. I miss the old days.

I Ain't been in a walmart or other large store in like a year
First Ninja Sword - was plastic I didn't care I'd seen Ninjas on TV and now I was one of them!
Got an M16 that day too - pull the trigger and you get that clacky noise.

We? 🤔
I hate people who open the product before buying(The lady who opened the GameBoy box). I'm sure you're checking to confirm that all the pieces are there, but you do that buy picking up an unopened package. These people are the real problems in stores.

Do you remember waiting on the holiday catalogs to show up in the mail?

That was another moment of great excitement for my siblings and I.

Very rarely did we ever get to visit a toy store as the closest was over an hour away.

I’ll never forget the excitement I felt when I flipped to the games section of the Sears catalog and saw they made a Donkey Kong Country 3. Good times.
Bro, I looked at it and its the most boring video ever, with like 5 minutes of people staring at Barbies®. What are you so reminiscent about? There is nothing nostalgic in that, ans I livef the 90s (not the early 90s, but still).

Do you want a Barbie? Is that what this about?

Someone’s mad their parents never brought them to a Toys R Us 😂

It’s ok, bro, 90% of us here didn’t get taken as often as we would have liked. No need to be bitter about it in 2025 😁
and look at where all of it is taking us... just look at what it's done to this world :steamfacepalm:
Can anyone here name a national chain toystore that still operates today and everyone can go to because they're everywhere? Do not count the toy sections inside of other stores please, I'm looking for the real deal with action figures, not binkies.

I think one of the last Toys R Us’ at the American Dream Mall in New Jersey is as good as it’s gonna get :/
i remember i got super high about a decade ago and went to a shopping mall on black friday to fight. But everyone just orders their christmas gifts online these days and its not the madness we had in the 90's
