Films of Significance.
Seeing more people getting banned and the general atmosphere here from unpleasant peoples.

I will be making this 'the last thread I start' .

Films of Significance.

The First Film naturally is Life of Brian.
Saved by George Harrison himself who mortgaged his house to fund the film after the company pulled out afraid of the backlash it would receive.
The great thing about Life of Brian is it is not an insult to Jesus.
They were read up on him and decided actually this is a good man.
So they laughed at the craziness around him and so we got Life of Brian rather than the original titled Lust for Glory.

It got banned by even councils without theatres there was so much outrage - from people who had not seen it but felt outraged enough.

it is a Monty Python film and so do not expect anything deep - but yet it carries some very good messages.
The iconic scene at the end, that was not planned for it. It just kind of happened when they heard the crew singing / whistling along to a song someone was playing around with.

Storyline :
Brian is born, he is raised by his mother and becomes a very naughty boy - in his 30s.

Dogma

I like its approach to religion and humour.
Was not expecting much of this film was on TV one night and then The Voice of God appeared. I recognised him but where from?
Let us say buildings and Christmases do not mix with this fellow.

A very light take but with great characters about Religion and how 'dogmatic' it can become.
Storyline

God likes to play "Skee Ball" this is when he is most vulnerable and is hospitalised.

Well couple of fallen Angles find out there bit of a loophole coming along for them so they got to make it to a Church where all previous sins will be forgiven.
God could easily stop this from happening but he has been beaten up.

So it rests on The Voice of God, Chris rock, Jay and Silent Bob and a disillusioned Catholic to save the Universe.

Sounds terrible?
I like its message,
I like God,
I like the humour.
Don't expect anything too serious but do expect to consider a few things.

Favourite scene?
The Golden Calf, Judgement from the Fallen.

The Matrix
Follow the White Rabbit....

A programmer / software / corporate worker searches for answers on why things just don't feel right around him.
We find him just as he is about to make the connection why things don't feel quite 'right' .

Stylish
Original
Only Keanu can be that pale and not need sunscreen.

So fire away people, Significant Films, that watching makes you see something different, learn something maybe even add an extra perspective to the way you view things.

The only thing I remember about the life of Brian is that woman with no underwear.
The Emoji Movie.

Baby Geniuses 2.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
tommy wiseaus "the room" is the only film of any significance, and the only film worth preserving for aliens to find in case of human extinction. if tommy wiseau will not allow us to save his gift to humanity, then "birdemic shock and terror" is a valid replacement.
Carpenter's They Live is one of the best mostly-unknown social critiques of all time.
Debbie Does Dallas
the live action flinstones with john goodman is also a significant film
1984 and V for Vendetta, both are currently being used by the UK as a template for government policies. For the love of god, do let them watch Soylent Green, although some people hope they will see A Boy and his Dog..

Okay, this I can approve

in which case, he's definitely Elroy.
So that conversations between Elroy and Astro are just Jack Black monologues

Yes, V for Vendetta, Got Tory total mismanagement to create the chaos, Starmer to bring in draconian sloping laws and Farage to ice the cake for it .
