Yes

If you need two seats, you should pay for two seats. You let your weight get this out of control, this is the consequence

Now if you have a medical condition that makes it almost impossible to lose weight, then maybe an exception can be made if provided proper doctors papers. But if they're like this because they like McDonald's a bit too much, then tough luck

Yes.

If you so big.that you need to pay for 2 seats, you gotta pay for each sit or lose that weight. And even if you weren't going a plane, still lost the weight. That amount of weight is gonna make you last until your 30 or 50.
The fair thing is to charge passengers per pound of body weight.

Yes, but with the caveat that it only apply to non-medical reasons. If you, for example, can't use your legs and has to sit in a wheelchair all the time, then becoming overweight might not fully be a fault, if you excuse the wording.

In short, a doctor should be able to make a diagnosis for someone not having to pay extra because of said diagnose. Not an easy topic to set clear either way, in my opinion.

obesity is a medical condition. then it means no one would be required to pay
No

They should charge extra if you need two seats.
I don´t think it would be fair to charge double ie. for a overweight 12 year old, that fits one seat and don´t annoy anyone from using one seat.

Less about "overweight" more about how much space you take.

Yes. Some passengers require 3 seats, especially in the USA.

Yes, but not all, sorry for the lack of words, fat people are obese.

EDIT: But for the type mentioned in this topic, yes they would probably be obese and be within what I'd say is a reason not to have to pay extra because of their medical condition.

EDIT 2: But they would need a doctors sign-off that they are obese, not just say so even if they are, a doctor would need to sign-off on it.

Don't get yourself into such a state.

u r entitled to get a medical report as obese as soon as u r overweight tho. so what is the point to force a doctors signature for smth they will just have to pay to?

So that people who are not obese can't use, as an example, a fringe-case of them being overweight, but not obese to not have to pay extra.

I didn't really think this through, I just think, as my opinion, that this is how it should be handled.

Depends. If their doughy belly pours over into adjacent seats, then yeah. Otherwise, no.
Large fit people should too as well.
And people who look creepy should also pay because people don't want to sit next to them.
And people who smell should pay more too.
If you whip out a bag of fish on the plane, pay more.

If you're bigger than a single seat you should be charged for the inconvenience of needing extra room.

Well first you should define what "overweight" is. Weight is a number that can refer to anything. If you're referring to fat/obesity, then you should say fat/obesity, not "overweight." A person can be obese at 200 while another is athletic at 225. A number is pretty useless without context for what that number is.

I also suspect you're less concerned with how much someone weighs, and more concerned about the amount of space they're taking up. This, again, isn't properly referred to by "weight," because fat takes up more space, yet weighs less, than muscle.
