The job market here in the US is so...grim
All the jobs are either McJobs, Jobs that require a 2 years exp in some super niche ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ field that no one will train in or jobs that pay so low you can't possibly afford to live even in a single studio apartment in the bad end of town.

learn a trade, if its not too late for you..

the world will always need plumbers, electricians, mechanics etc
It's the same in the United Kingdom, so I presume it's either global or Western.

What are your skills?
Well if you want the better paying jobs, they're in China now.

its too late for anyone over 30 to learn a trade.
If my interest in tech doesn't work out or what I write doesn't quite take off, welding or electrician is always an option. Even if that's kinda a typical fall back career for people like me

Those folks already put in time when they were 20. By the time you hit 30-40 you are doing more specialized or management style work. I have family who are sparkies, masons and work in CAD. It's the same MO, by the time you reach 40 years old your body is already broken from all the work you have to either go somewhere else or you have to start doing management work.

i was the later side of "by the time you hit" range before i started my training and have been in a technician class role for 5+ years. My job title calls me a radio engineer and i do the work of one (and pay) but im only a technician...
