Proper Bench Press Form
Right so the two big "hacks" for getting a bigger lift on the bench is the back arch and leg drive. Back arch is a separate issue here but I wanted to talk about the leg drive really quick.

I've always struggled with this part for some reason. I basically somehow "forget" to engage my feet after a few reps and just lose it. So I've been trying something weird the last few weeks. I drop the weight down to just a bit above warm up weight and let my feet "hang". So I'm basically using my core for stabilization and no legs.

This is probably hurting my chest somewhat because I'm not lifting as heavy weight, but I really feel like the core engagement is helping my abs. Thoughts?

well with any lift, you either go for power, or you go for hypertrophy.

the technique described is for power. 👍
If you get the leg drive right you should feel it in the hamstrings. I always thought back arching was a bit of a joke, I have seen a lot of people do it with a massive arch and only move the bar about 2 inches and count that as a rep.

GVT is good for improving technique.
what is the question?
