First, sport enjoyment is entirely subjective.

No doubt American Football will always be the most popular in the US, but World Football could someday be in second place.

It is becoming more popular, the USL will add a league and start promotion/relegation among three leagues in 2027. They wouldn't do that if the demand wasn't increasing.

Nothing is more boring to me than American Football, where they cram 30 minutes of action, at most, into three hours or more.

American football and baseball, to a great degree, are turn-based strategy.

Soccer, basketball, hockey (all the same exact game, fundamentally) are not turn-based.

They are RTS.

I hate watching the latter 3, it bores the heck out of me. I prefer turn-based plays over both teams just running and scoring for the duration of the game. It's like the difference between Hungry Hungry Hippos and RIsk.

The former 2 are more intellectual, and require the viewer to be more intellectual.

Baseball is my favorite sport of all to watch. By far.

Soccer isn't overtaking anything....
