Do I have the right to insult the President of the United States?
Hello. I would like to know if I have the right to insult the President of the United States and if not, what punishment would I receive for this, if I were a citizen living in the United States? Thanks for the answer.

You can say anything you want about the president. As long as you’re not threatening violence or anything of that nature then you’re good.

Yeah you do - freedom of speech
You have the right to disagree.

If you saw him walking alongside you down the road I don't think it would be your right to just start hurling insults at him/her.

Okay. And do I understand correctly that there is no law "On the protection of the honor and dignity of the President of the United States"?

There's nothing you can say that would injure his honor and dignity more than he's already done to himself, and the office.

What? We're not Europe, or China. So we don't have such laws.
Yes, you can, you will not be punished for it... usually.

However, do the same thing in Germany, and you will go to prison for a long time.

Not really, everyone in media who does it has been sued for millions or threatened with all kinds of consequences. We aren't allowed to share our thoughts openly unless he agrees with them.
Are you a US citizen?

Okay. Thanks a lot for the answer.
just insult any president and any politician from any country
you shouldn't have any respect for anyone who claims to be your "authority" anyway

People who are... emotionally compromised may sue you.

Democrats have been trying to take Trump down for years. It started when Clinton secretly bought the debunked Steele Dossier and used it to spy on Trump's campaign. It's been attempt after attempt by Democrats for almost 10 years now.

Yet here we are.
