Boromir is a sad story. He wanted to be King of Gondor. Captain of his people that he loved.
His house served as stewards. Never kings.
The throne was waiting for the true king, a Dúnedain. Someone descended from Elves, the first people.
He was betrayed by his own ambition and manipulated by the ring. His death is a tragedy, one of many that Sauron and Morgoth brought upon Middle-Earth
Just asking, but why assume Christianity is the path of light. Why claim Christ as your king if he did not save you from it?

I mean... it doesnt sound like he did anything. It sounds like you did those things. "I quit seeing other guys girlfriends" is something you do on your own. "I got my drivers license." also doesnt sound like a thing that a divine hand reached down to do but you did. Im just saying from my point of view, not trying to influence. Just talking.
